I’ve pre-booked 4 day WiFi vouchers with GoGo which are available from midnight on 14 Dec, so if I don’t immediately fall asleep on the next flight I can always connect to the internet and do some surfing. I’m expecting to use two on this trip and two on our holiday starting next week.

Well after I left my Global Entry interview at T4 I worked my way back to T8 and used the Fast Track to get through security. Found the Admiral’s Club and the Flagship Lounge. Thinking about popping out to get a Starbucks.

Well having left about 10 mins late from Manchester, and arriving 10 mins early at Heathrow it was disappointing to have to sit on the apron for 15 mins whilst an aircraft got ready to leave the gate we were arriving at. Never mind.

Time to chill and earn some serious miles with BA and AA. This trip will take me from Manchester to Heathrow, over to Dublin where I stay at the airport Hilton, then it’s on to JFK in the morning where I have my interview to complete my Global Entry application.

Bit scary this - my first overseas trip by air on my own! At 47! I’ve always had someone in tow to rely on for finding my way around, or picking up things from hotel rooms when I have left them, and there’s no one but myself to rely on.
