Tier Point Run to San Francisco in Jan 2022: Day 1 – Home to London LHR

Another trip that I am looking forward to immensely began with a relatively mundane drive to Heathrow. Left home just before midday and I had to take Vick’s car due to the missus needing to drive up to see her dad in Lichfield on Sat with her brother.  Not a big deal to me, but it is a noticeable difference in comfort between our two cars!

It was dry and not as cold as it has been in the past few days, when temperatures had fallen to below freezing. The drive was straightforward with very little traffic to talk about – certainly nothing to hold me up.  Arrived into POD Parking but I soon found out that the PODs weren’t working – it was a bus ride to T5.  So actually, it was no better than parking in Long Stay! A tad annoying, but I wasn’t going to let it ruin the start of my trip.
