Lap 2 commenced today! Another B2B to Sofia. Another BA breakfast and lunch to look forward to.
I was going to take the same approach to this weekend as I did last weekend. That is: get up at ridiculous o’clock and drive to Heathrow in the morning.
But I was so knackered at the end of Lap 1, that I decided I would stay overnight at the Hilton Garden Inn near to Hatton Cross tube to give me an extra hour in bed.
That also satisfied my Hilton Diamond stays requirement for renewal, so two birds, one stone and all that.
My final two Hilton stays would come as part of my 2-day mega B2Bs planned at the end of Nov and the beginning of Dec.
After enjoying dinner with Vick and our two kitties, one of which I was close to sitting on at one point, it was time to hit the road.
The A34 and the M4 were again my route of choice, despite the speed cameras.
It was fairly cool but dry, so the drive to Heathrow was easy. I found a parking space at the Hilton close to reception, but there was a hefty queue to check in. The Hilton app had thrown a wobbly earlier, at me changing my credit card, which prevented me from checking in via the app. Technology eh?
Into room 649 and I found a nice welcome gift on the desk. They say you don’t get anything for loyalty nowadays!
