Weekend in Tallinn in Apr 2017

Haven’t I just been to Tallinn? On a TP run to Estonia via Heathrow and Helsinki? Yes I have. This time I’m taking Vick to actually walk around the place and see whether it’s as nice as everyone says it is!

I jogged to passport control and on the way had to traverse a lot of passengers walking down the corridor leading to Arrivals and Flight Connections. I wondered how much of a queue I was going to have to deal with in automated passport control.

In the end, there were only a few passengers using the automated passport kiosks, but there were some available. I had no issues getting through on this occasion. Next focus was getting a shuttle bus back to business parking!

I continued my jog; I hate the idea of just missing a bus – I’d prefer to get to the bus stop and then have to wait a few mins for a bus to arrive, knowing that I had done as much as I could to avoid any unnecessary waiting around.

As it happens there was a couple already waiting at the bus stop. They had two trollies full of cases. This was going to take some time to load the shuttle bus!

About 5 mins later, a shuttle bus arrived and the driver helped the couple load their cases into the boot. I stepped on board and grabbed a single seat.

It must have taken the couple a good few mins to load their cases. Whilst this was happening, a number of other passengers got on the bus. The bus only held eight passengers and there were seven seats now taken.

So I felt obliged to tell everyone on the bus that there were another two passengers to get onboard and they were originally at the front of the queue, so it would only be fair for them to get seats.

Well, that lead to a woman with her two teenage children having to leave the shuttle bus. It was an unfortunate situation. Shame those who jumped on board didn’t think about those still loading their luggage.

I did wonder about offering to leave the bus myself, but bugger it – I was second in the queue – none of this issue was down to my thoughtlessness!

Back to T5 Business Parking and I just had the rush hour to deal with next.

The drive back home was a little slow as a result of traffic, but I got home in the end via the M4. I got a warm welcome from The Vickster and two furry friends.

The end of another TP run and another visit to (probably) my favourite TP run destination: Honolulu.
