Tier Point Run to Hawaii in Feb 2024

My first trip to Hawaii in more than 12 months - I'm getting withdrawal symptoms! This trip starts in Amsterdam and follows the well-trodden path of flying over to Hawaii via London Heathrow, New York JFK and Los Angeles LAX. I start with an initial positioning flight from Heathrow to Amsterdam.

I woke well ahead of my alarm, which was set for 4:30am. The plan was to catch the first hotel shuttle bus back to the airport at 5am.

Cathay Pacific only operated a single daily flight from Denpasar, which was the return leg of the Hong Kong service I’d taken a couple of days earlier.

I already had my boarding passes, so I was straight through security and in to the international lounge. Cathay Pacific didn’t operate its own lounge at Auckland, instead partnering with Air New Zealand.
