It was mad for pickups at the hotel, but my Grab taxi managed to wind its way through all of the other cabs. For less than £2, its just a no-brainer to avoid the walk and getting sweaty on the way.

I could definitely feel that I was properly into the swing of this by now. Hong Kong had become something of a base for the Asia phase of my Round The World trip, and staying in the same hotel each time simplified everything enormously.

I woke well ahead of my alarm, which was set for 4:30am. The plan was to catch the first hotel shuttle bus back to the airport at 5am.

Cathay Pacific only operated a single daily flight from Denpasar, which was the return leg of the Hong Kong service I’d taken a couple of days earlier.
