Gate 205 is one of the furthest gates from border control at the Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT). I was one of the last business-class passengers to deplane, but it didn’t take long to catch everyone up.

My flight was due to leave from Gate 59, which wasn’t too far from the lounge. The terminal was noticeably quieter at 1pm than it had been at 9am earlier in the day — which meant fewer people getting in my way.

From Gate 35, it was a long walk to transfers and immigration. The signage was excellent and it was easy to find the route to International Transfers — in fact, I appeared to be the only passenger using the facility.

I’d enjoyed a relaxing day in The Pier First Class Lounge at Hong Kong Airport. It certainly wasn’t the most exciting day of the trip, but it was exactly what I needed ahead of a mega stretch of flights.

Unbelievably, the hotel assigned me the same room last night that I’d had on my previous stay. Considering the place has around 6,000 rooms (or something close to that), that’s one heck of a coincidence.
