After a disappointing Women’s World Cup final, we were looking forward to visiting the Abba Museum in Stockholm. But there were challenges to be overcome.

After commisserating back at the hotel, we had to try to sort out the mess that was our Abba Museum tickets, purchased for this morning @ 10am.

In theory, we needed to use these tickets by 11am and they had the right to refuse us entry. We had to see whether they might be flexible.

We walked down towards the island on which the Abba Museum was located. It meant a 30 min+ walk and a ferry ride. Interestingly, we found that the ferry’s first stop was Slussen, which meant we could have saved our little legs by about 20 mins or so.

Never mind – it was good to see more of the river.

We finally reached the Abba Museum and by then it had started drizzling. Not too hard, but it was time to spend some time indoors.

Luckily, the staff at the museum were happy to accept our story of being delayed getting into Stockholm, so they let us in at after 2pm. We picked up our audio guide, but it wasn’t too engaging.

The museum was split into rooms: some larger than others, with some interactive exhibits. There were so many panels with material to read it was way too much to take in. Even Vick was happy just to take in the sights and move on to the next room.

Luckily, the museum wasn’t too busy. So at least we had space to walk around without bumping into too many other people.

We did manage to catch some entertaining snaps of Vick in various unusual scenes.

By the time we walked out of the museum, it was raining more heavily than earlier. We were able to make our way back to the ferry and head back to Slussen without too many challenges.

Then it was a 10 min walk back to the hotel for a short chill out, before heading out for dinner.

The restaurant we had chosen was Texas Longhorn, which is chain of a number of restaurants around Stockholm. They serve up classic American dishes including nachos, steaks, fajitas and the like.

We started off with a rum-based cocktail served up in jam jars, which was lovely.

As a starter, we shared some nachos, which included a beautiful and sweet pulled pork dish.

I was so impressed with the pulled pork, I ordered a pulled pork sandwich as a main course. Vick went for a burger. Both were really tasty.

It was a mouth-watering meal. We were pleased with our choice!
