Weekend in Seville in Mar 2023: Day 3 – Afternoon and Evening in Seville
After finishing inside the Mesquita, we wandered around the narrow streets in the vicinity, until Vick lost track of where we were on the map.
At that point, we decided to head back to the new town to get some lunch.
Finding somewhere serving something we wanted to eat proved to be a real challenge.
Some restaurants were not serving food until 1pm; some had no menu; some were just ice cream parlors.
It doesn’t seem like Spanish eating traditions works very well for us.
We ended up back at Starbucks, which at least served food we were happy with.
From there we wandered around, stopping for a magnificent ice cream, then headed back to the station via a number of benches in the park.
The various benches we sat at gave us an opportunity to take a selfie at each one.
There was a similar set of security checks at the station before we were able to get onto the platform. The train was on time and after a bit of messing about with seats, we settled in and dozed all the way back to Seville.
It was hot in the sun in Seville when we arrived back. Hotter than Cordoba. We managed to keep in the shade as much as possible on the walk back to the hotel.
A sleep was always going to be on the cards back at the hotel and we needed it.
We arranged to meet the Keevils at a lovely restaurant only 2 mins from the hotel.
To ensure we secured a table outside we went down for a drink early.
Luckily we got an English-speaking waiter and we explained what we wanted to do.
We ended up at a table for four and enjoyed a fab meal.
We started off with two portions of patatas bravas, of which, I ate most of them.
The potatoes were unbelievably tasty. Andrew decided he didn’t like the sauce, so picked at the potatoes underneath the sauce, so I had to hoover-up.
Vick started with a capresi salad, which she said was tasty, but there was too much spinach.
For main course, The Vickster and I shared a paella of chicken and chorizo with an unbelievable mushroom risotto.
The risotto was so rich and full of flavour – wow!
We crawled back to the hotel; said our goodnights and prepared for the big day tomorrow.
