Tier Point Run to Tucson in Oct 2024: Day 6 – Morning at London Heathrow

Having jumped the queue in deboarding the aircraft, I was also lucky to time my arrival at the train station just right.

I just missed one train, so I was in the process of walking down the stairs to the Transit Walkway when I heard the announcement that the next train was about to arrive.

That stopped me in my tracks, and I was lucky enough to be one of a few passengers off the JFK flight to make that train.

Passport Control was nice and easy, so I headed up to the Arrivals Lounge for a shower.

There was a 20 min wait, so I decided to head airside and try my luck at the old Spa reception.

Going through TFW security was easy, although my liquids bag was picked up for secondary screening, specifically my toothpaste. Bizarre. How many times has that been through?

The security process was extremely slow, so I put that down to on-the-job training, which might explain the over-zealous nature of the secondary screening. Mine wasn’t alone.

Into the CCR, and I found a powerpoint, powered everything up, and headed out to Starbucks, which I thoroughly enjoyed, especially since it was another freebie!

After updating the blog in the CCR, I carried out step 2 of my plan to lighten my load for the remainder of my trip.

Out on the train to the B Gates, C Gates, back to the B Gates and finally Arrivals. Through Passport Control again and onto the bus to Long Stay Parking.

Note that some marketing whizz kid decided that they needed to rename the very distinctive sounding Business Parking and Long Stay Parking to Park & Ride and Park & Ride Plus!

Apparently, to simplify things for customers. More likely to confuse them since they now sound almost the same thing! What is the world coming to?
