I arrived at Gate 18 in time to board alongside the last passengers. Of course, I got a red “no no” when scanning my face at the gate; BA needed to check my passport before I could get on.

I was warmly welcomed on board, and the cabin crew were keen to listen to my out-of-breath story of dashing across T8.
Managed to slip in a glass of LPGS, a bowl of nuts and a hot towel before pushing back on time. Pushing back on time at JFK makes a very welcome change.
The captain announced that it was going to be a short flight of just over 5.5 hours, so I expected to be sleeping most of the way.
As it happens, I slept really well and woke about an hour from Heathrow.
The cabin crew served me a pot of tea. I planned to grab some breakfast in the Arrivals Lounge, before heading back to the Long Stay car park to drop off my bag. That would save me £15-£20 in using the Left Luggage facility.
We arrived onto remote stand 551 after a bit of a wait for the stand guidance to be turned on. I managed to scoot past the CW mini cabin to be first off and on to the delights of the bus in the driving rain.
Not a great way to treat your premium passengers! At least the bus took first and CW passengers directly back to T5A Arrivals.
