Heathrow T5 was fairly quiet after taking the lift up to Departures on level 5. I thought about popping into The First Wing (TFW) check in area to get my boarding pass validated, but there appeared to be a queue for check in, so I decided to head straight through security instead.

Security in fact was empty, so that didn’t take long at all. I was then through into the First Lounge and on into the CCR. First stop thereafter was to pick up a Starbucks.

I eventually succumbed to my hunger and grabbed a table on the terrace for what I would describe as brunch, but I expected this would be meal number 1 of potentially 5 during the extended day.

Not something I am particularly proud of, but my lack of will power holds me back sometimes!

My flight to Dublin was due to leave from Gate A22. The inbound aircraft arrived at around 10:30 – it was obviously doing the Dublin shuffle today, having already been out to Ireland and back. Another one was on the cards shortly.

Flight: BA0836 Equip: A319
Sched Depart: 12:40 Actual: 12:54
Sched Arrival: 14:10 Actual: 14:19
Takeoff: 13:19 Landing: 14:14

I did a couple of terminal walks, but can’t report anything of interest observed. No celebs spotted or fights onthe concourse!

What was clear was the it was now wet on the apron, so it was likely to be overcast heading to Dublin.

Got to the gate just after priority boarding was announced. On board into seat 01F and settled in. No bags so no concerns over securing locker space.

I got a warm welcome from the Customer Service Lead, who recognised me as a GGL. He then turned to the guy sat next to me (also a GGL) and said, “The same applies to you”!

There will be a run required when I get to Dublin. Hopefully, all will be fine, but you just don’t know…

The meal service started quickly – it was only a short flight, after all. No menu but I went for the chicken salad with a coronation type sauce. Quite nice. The bread roll was rock hard though.

Arrived into Gate 204 as normal. I was lucky enough to be first off.
