I must have just missed an all-terminals Air Train since the next one was 5 mins away.  I wasn’t in a desperate hurry however.  I had 90 mins before my next flight was due to depart and I should have enough time to pop into the CCR.

Since I had all my boarding cards, I assumed I was good to go.  I tried heading through the main security access point, but I was told I had to go around the houses via the BA access point, even though I would end up at the same point!  I walked straight through to Fast Track Security and the Border Control lady made a big fuss about me being TSA Pre-Check – she shouted across the security area and made her colleague aware that I didn’t have to take my shoes off! Security was no bother and I was into the CCR in no time at all.  When I checked in at the CCR, I was flagged as “Not Allowed to Board” because my Netherlands entry details hadn’t been processed correctly by AA.  I was invited to go into the lounge and they would sort it out.  In the end, I was provided a BA version of my boarding cards and advised it had all been sorted for me.  Good of them!

Flight: BA0172 Equip: 777-300
Sched Depart: 20:55 Actual: 20:52
Sched Arrival: 08:45 Actual: 08:07
Takeoff: 21:12 Landing: 07:58

Saw my friendly lounge rep and waved to her, but she seemed in a bit of a frosty mood, so I didn’t really have any sort of meaningful exchange with her, other than in her providing me with a glass of LPGS.

I managed only 20 mins in the CCR, before having to head to Gate 9 to board. Boarding started fairly quickly and I was soon on board into seat 7A.

I was offered two glasses of champagne and enjoyed a lovely curry for dinner. Unfortunately on this occasion, I had no time to eat in the CCR.

Got about 3 hours kip.  I was offered a cup of tea before landing. BA inflight service has been pretty good on this flight back home.

Passport Control was bedlam – never seen a queue as long as that.  However, it did move fairly quickly.  Automated Passport Kiosk didn’t work again.  Exception queue took about 5 mins.  Overall looked a lot worse than it actually was.
