Having arrived at the Hilton Waikiki Beach hotel, I remembered my last (brief) visit in Nov. I had a room on the 12th floor (if I remember correctly). This time I managed to get onto the 34th floor (out of 37). Although it seemed to take the check-in guy a long time to organise my bookings so that I could stay in the room for both nights. Note that I wasn’t really staying the second night, but I booked it to ensure I effectively had as late a check out as I wanted.

Room 3416 had a sea view with a balcony and what a view from so high up!

After dumping my stuff, I headed straight out to The Cheesecake Factory (TCF) rather than wandering around. I felt a bit tired and didn’t want to completely knacker myself out. It was hot in Waikiki – I’d say about 28-30 deg c. So I also didn’t want to overheat so early in my stay in Honolulu.
I got a table outside at the front of TCF and ordered a couple of Sam Adams’, a lunchtime salad and some fries. What a lovely combination! The chocolate bread went down well also. I heard the normal screaming of fast cars driving down the main street. Sadly, they burn rubber to get others to notice them – how pathetic is that?

For the first time ever, I asked for the left overs to be boxed up and a Lemon Raspberry cheesecake to be included so that I could have that for dinner. I made sure they were in separate boxes!

Back to the hotel and I was starting to feel a little sleepy! So that led to a 2 hour + nap, which was very restful.
I ate my leftovers and cheesecake on the balcony 34 floors up overlooking a nicely lit up Waikiki. There was some sort of party going on at one of the hotels just below. They had a disco going and the DJ was getting a really positive response from the guests based on all of the screams…

I wondered about walking out in the evening to take in the atmosphere of Waikiki, but I couldn’t really be bothered. Still feeling tired, so that was it for the evening. Expecting to turn the light off at a decent hour. No doubt I’ll be awake in the early morning whatever!
