Tier Point Run to Cancun in Jan 2014: Day 8 – Amsterdam (AMS) to London (LHR)

Got through security in 5 mins – no big deal and no real queue. Had a quick Skype via mobile with Vick and then waited patiently for boarding my new flight back to LHR.

Well everyone was ready – the gate opened, but there was no announcement. We all waited for an announcement for boarding, but an off duty female FA marched forward and boarded the plane! How can she do that? One bloke then followed and we all picked up the sign that this was the official signal!

Anyway got on board and found that this female off duty FA was sat in my row. I saw her open up the overhead bin, put her large case in and then close it. I thought – is that full already? I opened the bin, and it wasn’t – I managed to squeeze my two bags in, so I don’t know why she closed it when she must have expected others to want to put cases up there!

Anyway, was a very dull flight – the female off duty FA looked out of the window during the safety briefing so I wasn’t impressed by that. Ignored the food and drink and was intent on hanging on until we got to T5.

Arrived at T5 a few mins early and then proceeded to flight connections. Of course the only fast track I have been through has been international flight connections so that’s where I went, and of course I was in the wrong queue, so I had to walk around and into the UK flight connections which included a border check. I ended up in the exact same escalator up and into security again though!

Got through without too many hold ups and whizzed down into the First Lounge.
