Holiday Washington DC in Nov 2025: Day 7 – Early Morning in Charlottesville

We were both up around 5am when Starbucks opened up. By this time, I’d be banging on the door, but to save the 15 min walk along the noisy road, I offered to drive and pick up our favourite drinks, so we could enjoy them in bed.

The server in the Starbucks store recognised me and was already preparing Vick’s 2.5 shot Venti Latte, but she couldn’t remember my order. What does that say?

Another tasty breakfast was enjoyed in the hotel, before we headed out to a Starbucks close to our focus for the day: another drive up Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park.

This time, Vick was my tour guide and she had the trip all planned out.

We had about 15 new overlooks to check out, but we would end up at Skyland Resort, where there was a circular hike, and a nice-looking restaurant where we could grab lunch.
