Holiday Washington DC in Nov 2025: Day 3 – Rest of the Day in Washington DC
From the Spy Museum, we walked south towards The Wharf, DC, which is an area primarily hosting restaurants.
There’s also a Hilton Canopy hotel and a few shops.
It was pretty close, so we didn’t have to face the chilly wind for too long.
We had two primary interests: firstly, there was a Starbucks, so we could get our second caffeine top-up of the day.
The second was in the form of a Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shop! Unsurprisingly in this brisk climate, it wasn’t busy!
The Wharf was a beautiful setting with the harbour, lots of yachts and the sun was doing its best to warm us up.
Vick’s heel was starting to give her some gip, so we grabbed an Uber to get back to the hotel.
A snooze was very much in order, and an attempt to warm our bodies after the cold adventures of the day.
In the late afternoon, we headed back to The Cheesecake Factory (TCF) and shared a main course Sante Fe salad and a plate of carnitas.
The salad confirmed our fears that portion size was taking a tumble at TCF – our experience the other night was not a one-off.
The “tender pork” that came with the carnitas wasn’t that tender, so that was a little disappointing.
Our server wasn’t a great communicator either, so engaging was a little on the challenging side.
We may have then finished off with take-out cheesecakes, which we enjoyed in our hotel suite.
