Holiday USA West Coast Road Trip in Aug 2022: Day 8 – Afternoon and Evening in Yachats

We were relieved when we finally got back to the car.  From there we drove into Yachats and found somewhere for coffee.  Then we purchased Ben & Jerry’s ice cream tubs and stuffed our faces back at the hotel!  That was lunch!

After our afternoon nap, we had options for dinner.  We had booked at Ona which was the best restaurant in Yachats, but didn’t offer a very extensive menu.  We looked at the Drift Inn, which had a better menu but was more of a pub; it had live music on starting just after 6pm.  Choices, choices…

We walked into the town; there was still a warmth in the air.  We found the Drift Inn, got a booth and decided this was the place for us this evening.  Food was good; we timed it perfectly; loads of people arrived just after we got there.

We started off with a blackened chicken Caesar salad which was very tasty.  Vick then went for a chicken teriyaki which she enjoyed and I went for the rib eye steak with a gorgonzola topping – also very tasty.

We struggled back to the hotel, having eaten way too much.  It was far chillier by this point.  We decided we would miss breakfast first thing in the morning and crack on with the first 100 miles to get to our Starbucks breakfast stop.  Arcata was our next stop on the way south; 280 miles away.
