We were on the road by just after 7am and we weren’t too disappointed about leaving La Grande.  It wasn’t long before the scenery around us changed to the green and brown of a forest scene.

La Grande to Viewpoint

First stop was a viewpoint just off the I84.  We got a wide view of the surrounding area, but there wasn’t anything specific that was worth highlighting!

Back on the road in a few mins and we had about an hour before we would reach our Starbucks breakfast stop.  We have started listening to Spotify on our Mustang’s music system, fed through my phone, so that kept us singing along on the route until Starbucks was in sight. Vick was pleased to see that her favourite egg bites were available at the Starbucks at Hermiston.  I had a double egg, bacon and cheese sandwich.  It was a nice and quiet Starbucks and we found some comfy seats in the corner of a large seating area.

Hermiston to Hood River

Back on the i84 and it was another 90 mins or so before we arrived into Hood River.  It was great to see our hotel as we arrived into the town.  It felt a little busier than the last time we were here in 2014.

We checked in and although our room wasn’t ready, we received a warm welcome from the reception team.  So we decided to walk around the town and see whether we would remember anything about the town. Luckily it was overcast this morning, so it wasn’t too hot.  Comfortable for walking.
