Holiday USA West Coast Road Trip in Aug 2022: Day 3 – Early Morning in Richfield

I was up at around 2am and Vick lasted much longer than me.  We both had a secondary nap and woke at 4:15am, which we thought was very timely since Liverpool were due to play (via Peacock web streaming) at 4:30am.  Unfortunately, we had forgotten about the hours’ time difference between mountain time and pacific coast time, so we were an hour early. Doh!

On the basis that the local Starbucks didn’t open until 6am, we drove out to find a 24hr MacDonalds, which proved to be closed.  So back to the hotel and we had to make do with the extra strong coffee brewed by the staff in the dining area. Back up in our room, we started watching the footie but decided that since we had a trek of 395 miles to do today, that we should hit the road early and put some of these miles behind us.

Thoughts on the Hampton Inn, Richfield

It was a Hampton Inn after all, so you know what you are going to get and it was nice enough.  Our room (408) wasn’t that big so there wasn’t a great deal of space to stretch out.  It was clean and in good nick.  The one thing to highlight was there were no seals around the shower door, so water could easily escape from the shower cubicle and flood the bathroom floor!  Not great.

Thoughts on Richfield

There’s not a lot to say about this quiet little town in the middle of nowhere.  It’s got a good number of restaurants and hotels.  It is definitely a place to stay over on your way to somewhere else.
