Holiday USA West Coast Road Trip in Aug 2022: Day 2 – Las Vegas to Richfield

Las Vegas to St George

We packed up, checked out, headed to the car and I set up the GoPro 10 on the windscreen to capture our road trip using the TimeWarp function.  The rain had stopped by this point and we were looking forward to heading north east heading to Richfield, Utah.  Today’s trip would cover 285 miles.

First stop was St George for a Starbucks and a top-up breakfast.  That took us a little over 90 mins and in that time, the GoPro 10 had failed twice due to overheating.  So, I plugged it directly into a power feed from the cigarette lighter plug and took the battery out.  It seemed to be happy to record in that arrangement, which meant no further overheating problems!

At St George, we had a second breakfast. Vick enjoyed her egg bites and I had a double bacon, egg and cheese sandwich.  We also popped into CVS to do our toiletry shopping, which naturally for a road trip, had to include two small bags of Haribo.

St George to Richfield

From St George, we pushed onto Richfield and to the Hampton Inn & Suites.  The room I had checked into wasn’t ready, and on further checking, was unavailable to us since the occupiers from the previous evening had decided to smoke weed in the room. 

So, we were offered room 308 which was ready for us to move into straight away – perfect.
