Holiday USA West Coast Road Trip in Aug 2022: Day 11 – Sausalito to Monterey

Having gotten back in the car, we headed up to the Golden Gate Bridge viewing areas – it was lovely and clear by this time. 

As normal, it was packed, but we got some good shots of the bridge and when we got back on Highway 101, we had to video our drive across the famous landmark.

Progress along Highway 101 through the Bay area was really slow, but eventually we got back up to speed and we arrived at the Hilton Garden Inn in Monterey by around 1:30pm.  

It was really slow on the last 10 miles – seemed like everyone was heading to Monterey at the same time as we were.

I’d managed to get an upgrade to our room to a junior suite (328) and it was huge. 

Too big to be honest; the space wasn’t utilised very effectively; it would have been better separating the room into a bedroom and a lounging area. 

Beggars can’t be choosers!
