Holiday USA SW Road Trip in Apr 2022: Day 9 – Lake Havasu City to Las Vegas

I was awake by about 3am; Vick slept through to 5am.

Walked out to Starbucks at about 6am.  We sat out the back of the store, soaking up the sunshine.  It was still cool but it was a fab way to start the day.  If only all days started like this!

Back to the hotel and we were heading downstairs to check out at around 7:45am.

It was a lovely temperature when we hit the road and it was a perfect opportunity to pop the roof down.  The first 55 odd miles to Fort Mohave didn’t take long.  Traffic was light and the roads were great for overtaking.  We deliberately missed breakfast both in the hotel and in Starbucks at Lake Havasu and decided to grab some food when we reached this first stop.

The Starbucks store didn’t have any egg bites that Vick wanted, so we popped over to the Starbucks store integrated into Smith’s to buy some cold, then we took them back over to the main Starbucks store to ask them to heat them up.  I had a double bacon, egg and cheddar sandwich.  Lovely.

The final 105 miles to the Hilton Garden Inn, Las Vegas Strip South, arriving at 11:15am, included two unbelievably long stretches of straight road which we could see a long way into the distance.  One was 17 miles long.

We didn’t think our room (451) would be available, but it was, so we got our keys and settled in.
