Holiday to Pacific West Coast in Jun 2012: Day 31 – Chicago to Munich

The day has finally arrived – time to head home.  It’s been a great holiday but all good things come to an end.  When we get close to the end of holidays we always want to get home quickly and get on with life – no difference this time.  We have done well surviving over a month without killing each other, so I take that as a bonus.

Anyway, the most important person’s name appeared on our coffee cups today from Starbucks.  Thanks J!

Not done a great deal today since we didn’t want to get really sweaty before heading to the airport.  We are not flying until 9pm but we have to check out by 1pm (and that’s a bonus for being a Diamond member – not much of a bonus really), so Vick is happy to stay in watching the tennis, and all I have done is pop out to take some photos of some leg statues!

So we have seen Murray get through to the semis – hard fought match against David Ferrer.  We have spent 3 hours in the hotel foyer, eating lunch from Starbucks and using our laptops. 

We grabbed a taxi just after 4pm to the airport – our taxi’s a/c in the back wasn’t working so there was a tube from the vent at the front into the back of the cab – not very effective and to be honest it looked a bit dodgy!  Anyway we made it to the airport.

Not many people here – we checked in without any issues; sailed through security and we are currently sat in the United lounge waiting for something(?) to happen – effectively for time to pass, and to go somewhere for dinner.  Our aim is to sleep on the flight all the way to Munich (if we can).
