Decided to force ourselves to get up early so that we can short cut getting over the jet lag when we get back home.
I’ll be starting my new contract on Monday so I can’t afford to be carrying around 8 hours of jet lag for too long.

The alarm was set for 6am. I was up at 3:45am and worked in our second room – I was getting email and a basic web site up and running for pepperplanet.co.uk, our new consultancy business.
When Vick awoke she told me she hadn’t really slept all night. I wonder who that hog was in our bed then making all that snorting noise?
Anyway, breakfast was fine upstairs and we then headed off to our Segway tour. We were both really looking forward to this, and it didn’t let us down. It was fab.
It lasted 3 hours and as with our tour in Washington (J’s and mine) we had a 10 min video which scared a few people, and 15 mins practive and awareness on the segway itself. Then it was off over bumps, downhill, uphill and across streets.

We stayed primarily on South Lake Shore Drive and the park there. We saw some great views of the skyline, and Meadows (yes that really was his name) gave us a really good tour.
Our legs (and feet) were aching after that. We were also soaking from the sweat since it was still really humid.
We got back to our hotel and luckily our new room was ready, and how much better was it? Masses.
Rav the taxi man still hadn’t handed in my phone so a little bit annoyed about that – we will get it sorted eventually.
Actually it turned out he’d tried to, twice, and the front desk staff claimed no knowledge of the envelope we’d left at the desk for him.
Starting to feel really sorry for him so we upped the amount in the envelope.
Stats for Day 30: 0 miles.
Plan for tomorrow is to head home (boo hoo).
