I woke up dead early of course, and I couldn’t get back to sleep. Things I wanted to check up on: can Vick use the security fast lane when she’s One World Emerald even though she is flying economy? How far is it to the rental car drop off? Will Vick be able to easily find the Centurion Lounge in DFW?
So today sees us go our separate ways: I’ll be flying off on my first trip to Cancun (via LAX and MIA) and tomorrow coming back to Vegas; Vick will be flying off to Houston via DFW for work. So from here on in two posts will appear each day to summarise our respective activities.
We had breakfast this morning at the HGI which was good. On the road by 8:05am which was only 5 mins after our target, so not bad. We had to free wheel as much as we could due to running on fumes but we made it to the Dollar rental car drop off without any hitch.
Returning to the airport wasn’t a problem and we were quickly in the queue to check in. We had both checked in on line but Vick had to drop off her bag, and I needed to get a boarding card for the third segment of my outward flight to CUN.
We were also fairly quickly through security – the pre-check guy was very pleasant and Vick was pleased that he commented on how young she looked compared to her passport photo! Once through we were into the line for Starbucks and then into the Centurion lounge.
Once settled in we tried to swap the t shirt I bought Vick when I was last here for a slightly larger one, but unfortunately they didn’t have any medium size in that style of shirt. Vick will need to squeeze into it!
By 10:30am it was time to say goodbye for 10 days and there was a tear in Vick’s eye when she disappeared down the bridge to her plane, and I ran away jumping for joy being let off the leash for over a week.
