Holiday to Here, There and Everywhere!

This is the start of a mix of flights, car hire and hotel stays that I have collated together in support of (1) our holiday to Hawaii in Nov 2026, and (2) my GGL renewal.

It was originally going to contribute to my 2026-2027 membership year, with all of the constituent elements occurring in 2026.

Having done a forensic analysis of my forecasted earnings for this membership year, I realised I was likely to earn way too many TPs and I should look at moving some into the next membership year, if I could.

I tried to move a trip to Hawaii from Jan 2027 to May 2027, which failed by 1 day due to the annoying 12 month from ticketing rule. That would have pushed over 10,000 nTPs into the next membership year.

So, I turned my attention to this odd BA Holiday. Was there a way in which I could move my earnings from this trip into my next membership year?

It looked like there was. Prior to the start of this BA Holiday, I added on a cheap hotel stay in April 2027. That extended the holiday into the next membership year, and all of the accrued BA Holiday earnings would be applied one week after the holiday completes!

It wouldn’t alter the award of bonus TPs associated with BA flights, but all of the BA Holiday spend would magically shift into the next membership year. Clearly, I’ve got to prove this change has had the desired effect.

And of course, BA will try and close that loophole if they notice. But it would help me a lot this time around.
