Alarm woke us at 5am – nice comfy bed so no complaints.
Wandered across into the airport and through fast track security at BRU and popped upstairs to the BA lounge which was very pleasant, and quiet at that time in the morning.
When we got to the gate it was nice to see a completely separate boarding point for Bus, BAEC Gold/Silver/Bronze members. We were third aboard, and clearly the lack of sleep had affected Mrs B since she sat in the wrong row. I was going to leave her there, but thought better of it in the end.
Vick had to catch up on her sleep on board as you can see. Bless!
Managed to get a quick snap of the cockpit when we were waiting to get off. Not terribly interesting this, but we need pictures to break up the monotonous commentary.
Arriving at T5 we were the first off – the flight wasn’t very busy. Flight Connections fast track was open which was great and a little bit of a surprise based on comments on FlyerTalk. Whizzed through and upstairs into security where things slowed down a bit.
It was great to finally reach the First Lounge in T5. We had resisted breakfast on the flight on the basis that the offering in the lounge would be much better. It was but if we had to complain it would be that the plates aren’t that hot, the food isn’t that hot, and the toast is hard. Other than that we were happy.
Looking forward now to a relaxing flight to IAD in a 747 on the upper deck.
