A Visit to Battersea Power Station in May 2023
We are always interested in a trip into London – it doesn’t happen anywhere near enough. But when we do head in it’s even better to take the opportunity of meeting up with James.
This time we had a look around Battersea Power Station which has been converted into a tourist destination. More detail can be found at the Battersea Power Station website.
We decided to drive into Greater London and then catch a tube into the centre. Due to the southern end of the Piccadily Line being closed, our normal free parking location at Hounslow West wasn’t going to be any help this time.
So we tried a new place to start at Hillingdon, near to the northern ends of Metropolitan and Piccadilly Lines. That allowed us to catch a train on the Piccadilly line to South Kensington tube station.
From there we walked for about 30 mins down to the Thames, cross over to the south bank and a brief walk along to the power station.
We had agreed to meet James in Starbucks inside Battersea Power Station. He looked amazing!
Wow what a transformation. We were both very proud of him.
After catching up and enjoying our coffees, we wandered around the new tourist destination and we eventually found our way to our check in at 11am, ahead of the exciting lift up the power station.
It all seemed a bit bizarre to be honest.
After enjoying the trip up the lift, we had lunch at Wagamama’s which is always a great place to enjoy a bit of Asian food.
It was getting warm and we were starting to tire a little after an early start.
We said our goodbyes and we headed home.
Another great trip into London and even better to have caught up with James!
