There was no queue for security when I got there.  When I approached Millionaire’s Door, the BA staff member checking boarding cards didn’t have a clue about how to check access.  She initially indicated I could use the First Lounge.  When I explained I had access to the CCR, she asked whether I had a CCR card.  I had to explain that BA didn’t issue CCR cards any more and that it was based on status.  I was GGL and she could look it up on the system.  I think she gave in in the end, acknowledging that I knew more about it than she did!

Agh - Starbucks!

Into the lounge and first opportunity to brush my teeth for a good few hours, before heading down to Starbucks.  I noted that Starbucks didn’t take off the cost of the extra shot, which should have been free on the basis that I am a Gold member.  When I picked up my last one on Sat morning, the lady asked me whether I was Gold and (I assume) didn’t charge me for the extra shot.  Cheeky buggers.

I headed down to Gate A22 where there was no queue to talk of.  There were a few passengers sat in seats, waiting quietly.  Boarding was called and I got a beep when I approached the gate.  They can’t be upgrading me – I’m in business class already!  There was an issue with (what I can only assume related to) covid requirements.  It took two agents 5 mins before they could clear the issue.

On board into seat 01A, at which point I really felt like I was starting to flag a little. Cue a short snooze until we were up in the air and there was the opportunity of some grub.

I was tempted into the chicken & coleslaw salad which was nice and tasty, but I saved myself for afternoon tea on the return flight.  I dozed most of the way to Amsterdam.

The flight arrived into Gate D18 and I went for a wander to waste the hour or so that I had before my flight back to Heathrow.
