That special place is of course Starbucks in the Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT).  When I got there the queue was enormous and the staff seemed to be working really slowly.  I thought I would end up using all of the available 2 hours (before my next flight) queueing for a coffee!

Luckily things seemed to speed up a little: a few people didn’t want coffees – just water and pastries etc.  So after about 20 mins, I had my coffee and I was heading back to the lounge.  It was the first liquid (or food) that I had had since 5pm the previous day in Honolulu, so it was greatly appreciated.

Back to the lounge and I grabbed some muffins, butter and jam to satisfy my immediate hunger.  I do love those AA muffins.  I was in the lounge for only about 40 mins before I off again heading to gate 49A for my flight to JFK.

Flight: AA0002 Equip: A321T
Sched Depart: 08:00 Actual: 07:57
Sched Arrival: 16:22 Actual: 16:20
Takeoff: 08:12 Landing: 16:13

At the gate there was a young lady holding a sign with my name on it.  That means one of two things: either they have upgraded me to First Class (I was hoping) or I’ve done something wrong!  As it happens it was neither of those: I think it was just to recognise my status with BA and I could board when I fancied.  So, I did.

On into seat 6F – the first row in business class.  I had an elderly woman sat next to me and there was an old fuddy-duddy in 6C – he mislaid his phone by the time we had arrived in New York!  It’s a nice and comfortable seat for this long transcontinental flight.

As with almost all AA flights, we pushed back ahead of schedule and we were soon up in the air.  It was very cloudy today so I didn’t have much opportunity to take any decent photos after take-off.

I had a cup of tea to start with together with two biscotti biscuits.  Then breakfast was served which included fruit as a starter followed by the American breakfast.  Pretty tasty.

I watched The Courier which is a film about a business man recruited to be a spy during the cold war (with Benedict Cumberbatch).  Pretty decent film. We arrived on time into T8 Gate 33.  I headed over to the Air Train and caught the train to T7.
