Good quality sleep I did get, but just for about 4 hours or so. I was wide awake at midnight and decided to do some covid tests and see whether I could check in for my flights back home.
By the time I had stopped messing around it was coming on for 4am and that meant the first Starbucks store was about to open, so I headed down that way. I was super careful this morning about giving vehicles extra clearance, even when I was allowed to cross β I don’t want to have another near-impact experience!

It’s going to be a seriously long day today. My first flight doesn’t leave Honolulu until 23:50 so that means I will have been up as good as 24 hours by the time I sat on board that flight to LA. I need to do some negotiating with the hotel to see how much extra time I can get in my room. I tried to move to an earlier flight, but AA wanted to charge me extra for the privilege.
The latest complimentary checkout I could get was 2pm. I had to pay a small additional charge to extend my stay in my room until 6pm, which I thought was worth doing.

I filled in my Verifly flight from JFK back to LHR and got my green tick. Printed a few docs out in the lobby including my test results, just in case anyone asked for them. I couldn’t check in on line with AA for my flight back to LAX though, so I will have to do that at the airport.
The rest of the day was fairly uneventful β the rain largely stayed away and it remained warm and a little humid.
I decided to have breakfast in the onsite restaurant again. Primarily because I got $15 food and beverage (F&B) credit per day and it doesn’t carry over, so that means you have to spend at least $15 each day to get the full benefit out of it. Another breakfast burrito for meβ¦

I walked down to the HHV again and picked up my second Starbucks of the day β minimal queue today. It was still fairly business around the beach area.
After heading back to the hotel for a rest(!), I walked over to Ala Moana mall for opening, partly to see what shops were open and to get Panda Express for lunch. I noticed that the Microsoft store seems to have closed down β just Apple left from that perspective.

With the extra hours I secured in my room, I decided I needed to try and get some sleep this afternoon. The alarm woke me up at 5pm so I got some benefit from getting into bed!
