Holiday USA SW Road Trip in Apr 2022: Day 9 – Red Rock Canyon

We decided we may as well go and drive around Red Rock Canyon – it’s a fab place to visit – we have done it twice before, but even if we just drove around the 13-mile scenic driver, it would be good entertainment.

We drove out to TCF in Henderson for an early dinner.  We had been there before and there wasn’t much of a queue, so we were sat in our booth fairly promptly.  We need to remember to always bring a jumper for Vick!

Service wasn’t that good unfortunately.  We felt rushed, but things got off to a good start with the stuffed mushrooms that we shared – gorgeous!  Then we went for our normal lunchtime salads, which to be honest, were not that tasty, alongside a portion of small fries (without salt), which were very nice.

We didn’t bother hanging around for cheesecake, but we drove across the road to Ben & Jerry’s where we enjoyed the ice cream sat outside.  We chatted with the manageress of the restaurant next to B&J’s – we had strayed over to the tables outside her restaurant, but she was fine about it.  She was keen to tell us all about her ex who ran a restaurant in Oxfordshire – in the top three fish restaurants in the UK apparently!  We didn’t ask whether he achieved that when they were together, or after they separated!
