We wanted a good quality, local Thai restaurant – we had discovered quite a few in our time spent driving around America.  Vick had found a place called Talay Thai, which was a couple of miles on the way towards Palm Springs.

Initially, we were seated at a table in the back since all of the tables in the window were taken.  It was dark and not that an attractive place to eat. As we reviewed the menu options, a table became free and we moved ourselves.  Far more attractive place to enjoy our dinner.

The Thai menu was fairly classic so we opted for a satay to start with, followed by a massaman curry and a pad thai noodle dish.  The satay chicken was a little anaemic looking, but pretty tasty.

The massaman curry was quite nice, but rather than the potato being cut up, we got 3 large potatos.

The pad thai was quite sweet, which I was ok with, but none of the elements were mixed together, so it was a little unusual.

Overall, not very impressed.  Disappointed we didn’t go to Outback, or even go back to TCF!
