Weekend in Stockholm in Aug 2023: Day 5 – Morning in Stockholm
Our last day in stunning Stockholm, where we have enjoyed some amazing sights. All good things come to an end and we will be heading back home later today.
We have really enjoyed our time in Stockholm, but it’s time to head home. There are furry felines that are missing us.
Another good night sleep was had by all, so we were raring to go once the Vickster was awake. We decide to start with a hotel breakfast, which was much quieter than on previous mornings.
We decided not to do anything too strenuous before heading to the airport. We had seen enough of Stockholm and we wanted to chill out a bit.
We walked out to our regualr Starbucks store, which was a feat in itself, due to Vick’s sciatica flaring up a touch. But we enjoyed the walk. It was a lot colder today, although it was at least dry.
Once we had arrived back at the hotel, we packed up and checked out. We wandered over to the T (tunnel-bana) and had to buy new tickets to get to T-Central – our 72 hour tickets had just expired.
From there it was a short walk to the Central Train Station, so that we could catch the Arlanda Express train back to the airport. It was scheduled to take 18 mins, but we laughed at the fact that it was delayed by 5 mins. Everything normally runs like clockwork in Sweden.
Once at Arlanda International Airport, we struggled with Vick’s boarding pass and her ability to get into fast track security. We got there in the end with some help from the security guy. He let her through; I think feeling sorry for the poor girl. The BA app wasn’t playing ball.
We found the Pearl Lounge in Terminal 2, which was a decent size, but it was very busy. Having found a Starbucks in T2, I picked up our normal drinks and consoled ourselves in the fact that our long weekend was coming to an end.
