Once the door was open, I didn’t hang around. It wasn’t far to Arrivals and Passport Control was relatively quiet, although my kiosk took an age to actually present any results on screen. But it was another success, so I am happy to wait a few mins to get the right outcome!
Out to the bus stop for Long Stay and I timed it pretty well. I was only there a min before a bus turned up, although it then hung around for a few mins before heading off.
It took about 15 mins to pick up passengers at T2, then to drive back to the Long Stay Car Park.
The car was in good shape and I headed out to the barrier, which didn’t recognise me. However, when it gave me a price, it told me NOT to pay, but to call for assistance.
When I did that, I was asked to press a Stop button, and magically the barrier opened.
That also reminded me of another issue I came across when I drove in this morning.
The middle lane on entering the car park couldn’t print tickets for some reason, so I had to back out and go into a different lane.
The drive home was pretty easy. I ended up going back along the M4, which is a really boring and annoying motorway due to the speed restrictions (not that I speed obviously), but it’s nice to have a bit of lattitude!
Back home by 3pm. The aircraft door was only opened 2 hours ago, so that’s not bad.
Looking forward to lap 2, next Saturday!
