I had a good wander around the terminal building, well, the departures level anyway – I couldn’t be bothered going down to one of the lounges. As I understand it, they are not much to write home about anyway.

Sofia Airport is quite sparse in some respects, but where there are collections of shops, bars and cafes, where they have attempted to brighten things up.

I noticed that as we landed, there were some aircraft on the right-hand side of the runway, which looked like they were waiting to be broken up. It was almost a mini-boneyard.

There’s more to see on Google Maps.

Back on into seat 01C. The guy that was on the flights yesterday was sat in 01C on the way out and on the way back to Heathrow, we had swapped seats.

Got an Italian snorter next to me in seat 01A. I don’t understand why people think it’s acceptable behaviour to snort, rather than them blow their noses!

We had taken off a few mins before our scheduled departure time. The captain advised it would be 2 hrs 55 min flying time ( same as on the way out), so I assume that can only mean there was minimal impact of the jet stream. We should, therefore, arrive into Heathrow early.

Dinner menu was identical to last night, so that’s two meals today, that were the same as yesterday.

I went for the vegan curry again – it’s so tasty… The cheese, pudding, and starter were all the same as yesterday, so no need to write about them again.

I dozed for most of the rest of the flight, so there’s nothing too exciting to report!

We arrived very early onto a remote stand at Heathrow T3. We waited for an age for the steps to be attached. The buses were waiting for us, but didn’t get a look in, until the steps were securely in place.

Why is it that we seem to be penalised for arriving early?

We eventually got on a bus, and I managed to get into the best position, so I was off first when the bus arrived at T3.

A quick scoot past another bus load of passengers, allowed me a clear run through the automated passport kiosks, which are now a complete breeze, which is nice to be able to say.
