The cabin crew lead had proactively checked who was getting back on board before I mentioned it to him. He wanted to find out how easy it was and noted there were not many 80 TP-places like Sofia left.

On into seat 01A. We were ready to go a good few mins before scheduled departure time but the Captain announced that we may have to hang around on stand for a while.

He also noted the jet stream was really strong working against us, so it was going to be a long flight time of approx 3 hrs 20 mins.

As it happens, we were only delayed about 5 mins before pushing back, which meant we were due to arrive at Heathrow around 9:45pm.

Although slightly delayed, this would be a lot better than the first half of this TP Run when I didn’t get back until 11:30pm.

The cabin crew continued on their good service by handing out menus – no sharing on this occasion! On initial inspection, it looked like the same options as on the outbound, including turkey.

I decided I wasn’t going for my second turkey dinner of the season; I thought I might go for the curry this time.

It turned out to be an inspired choice! The chickpea vegan curry was stupendous.

Really tasty and really spicy hot. The coconut rice was great too.

Unfortunately, I also had a classic BA mush starter. I don’t know how they manage to prepare dishes like this!

Same chocolate mousse, which was lovely.

The rest of the flight sort of flew by, which seems an appropriate verb to use!

We arrived into Gate 307, but unfortunately, we had to wait for stand guidance to be turned on. I thought we had improved things recently, so it’s disappointing when we revert back to old ways of working…
