Tier Point Run to San Jose in Nov 2023: Day 3 – Afternoon in San Jose

I had decided to reserve a hire car for this trip – I managed to get a half-decent deal, it should avoid costly taxi costs to get around town and give me more scope for seeing the surrounding area.

I headed over to the Car Rental Center at San Jose airport and discussed with the Hertz rental team a switch to using a Tesla, rather than the Polestar 2 that I had ordered. I ended up with a Model 3.

Eventually I headed out of the airport and the Sat Nav took a while to work out where I was. The Sat Nav voice was turned off and the Model 3 user interface is very different to the Model S.

With only me in the car to work this all out, whilst trying to reach my hotel for the night, it was a bit of a struggle. Got there in the end!

Arrived at the Hampton Inn & Suites, San Jose Airport and luckily my room was available early.

So that allowed me to check in and chill out in my room.

I caught up with the Vickster, who had had a long day chasing x-rays of her finger, but having made great progress with our ensuite refit.

I decided I would drive out to The Cheesecake Factory (TCF) for a late lunch/early dinner.

It took about 15 mins to get there and along the way I was very conscious of simple navigation decisions, which could have easily led me to going off track.

When I am with Vick as a secondary advisor, she quickly picks these things up.

The fact that I kept on track on this trip was more down to luck than judgement.

I considered ordering my usual stuffed mushrooms, but fancied a change. So I ordered the chicken quesadilla as a starter.

Remembering how big starters were at TCF, I decided to wait to order anything else until a bit later.

I did have my eye on a Korean BBQ chicken dish. That was going to have to wait until my next visit!

I was pretty full after my quesadilla, so I decided to bypass main course and go straight to cheesecake.

I ordered my usual as take-out so that I can enjoy in the comfort of my own room.

As always, it was well tasty!
