I always jog through Dublin airport – it just doesn’t make sense to assume all will be well with passport control and security. You never know what you might find.
Well this evening was another easy connection. There was noone in passport control, although the first automated passport kiosk asked me to “stand back” – not entirely sure why I needed to stand back.
Anyway, I tried a different kiosk and I got through without a hitch. It was a minor hold up that didn’t really concern me.
It was my normal jog through baggage reclaim Hall, out through customs and up the escalator.
Fasttrack security was completely empty, so straight through. The security guy I engaged with commented on how I was travelling light!
Back to Gate 204 and it was about 5 mins before boarding commenced. They were keen to get away quickly to catch up on some of the time they had lost flying to Dublin.
Got a menu for the way back. Not particularly inspired by either salad, but thought I would try the roast pork salad this time. What happened to the turkey dinner?
The pork salad was quite tasty. The chocolate mousse was nice, as it has been for the last few times I have enjoyed it on BA short-haul flights.
We arrived into Gate 22, which was going to be perfect for a quick exit.
However, there was an unruly (and drunk) passenger at the back of business, who I think got into an argument with another passenger. He got up before the aircraft had come to a stop and walked to the front of the aircraft. He was dealt with very professionally by the cabin crew. That was the most excitement I saw for the entire flight!
I jogged through Arrivals and back to Bus Stop 21 for the shuttle to Long Stay parking.
