I whizzed through to T5 Flight Connections and got on the first T3 bus. It stopped at T5B, but by that stage, it was a squeeze to get anyone else onboard.
Arriving into T3, I found a fairly long queue for security with no apparent fast track line, so I had to slum it with everyone else.
The scanners were the new ones, so at least I didn’t have to extract liquids and laptop etc.
Once through, I bypassed the duty free by following signs for Short Connect, and then straight into the BA Lounge.
I took the opportunity to enjoy a top up of breakfast. I was thinking I might try and sleep on the Finnair flight to Helsinki.
I only had about 45 mins in the lounge before heading down to Gate 1 for my flight over to Helsinki.
Gate 1 was fairly busy by the time I got down there, but no one was really queuing close to the boarding door. I didn’t start a queue, but I did position myself so that I could quickly join a queue if one was started.
One guy decided to start the queue 30 secs before the doors were opened. He was so keen, I expected him to start banging on the door shouting, “Let me on”.
On into my preferred seat 08A and I looked forward to (perhaps) getting some more shuteye.
I quite like the new Finnair business class seat. It is easy to slip into sleep mode straight after take off.
I slept most of the way and turned my nose up at the offer of a meal onboard.
Nice smooth landing. Nice to be able to watch the landing using the A350 camera on the tail.
We arrived into Gate 43 and it was a fairly quick attaching of the airbridge and a rapid exit heading to the Platinum Wing.
