Fair to say that this trip has not been a successful one, having not even made to my intended destination! Sometimes Irregular Operations (IRROPS) happen; most of the time, the airline can get you to where you are supposed to be going, but on occasion, things just don’t work out. That was the case for me this time around.
BA Flights
The short flights to/from Amsterdam were fine for what they were: very short flights. Service tends to be fairly rushed and of limited quality. I’d certainly not be happy paying the normal price for this type of flight in Club Europe, but as part of a multi-connecting itinerary, it’s fine.
I was only in Club World on the Heathrow to New York JFK flights, but at least I had the opportunity to enjoy the new Club World suite, which is so much better than the old herringbone arrangement. Food was decent and overall, the service was pretty good as well.
AA Flights
The flights to/from Los Angeles LAX are always consistently good. On this occasion, some of the food left a little to be desired, but the quality of the seat makes these long flights very comfortable indeed.
Hilton LAX
Just the one hotel on this trip. The first (planned) night I got a nice room with plenty of space. The second (unplanned) night I was given a terrible room with a very small window out onto the world. However, a Hilton hotel is a comfortable place to be.
