Tier Point Run to Hawaii in Nov 2021: Day 2 – Early Morning in Paris
Woke at 6am – I had set my alarm for 7am. Felt fairly rested even considering the very soft mattress.
The hotel is fairly worn, but has big rooms. It doesn’t seem too busy, but there were a lot of rooms on floor 4 which were being used – I could tell by all of the seals on the doors that had been broken by residents entering their rooms.
The shower took for ever to warm up and was fairly weak once I managed to get in. Breakfast was nice and empty. No checks for vaccinations etc as the hotel had suggested in a letter, that the check in lady had provided to me.
There’s no lounge available to me when I head back to CDG (all are temporarily closed due to covid), so there’s no need to head to the airport too early. I’ve got my boarding passes already, so the only hold up is likely to be security.
I thought there was a Starbucks on the way as well, so I was looking forward to that.
I went down for breakfast in the main restaurant about 8am – there were suggestions that checks would be needed for vaccination and negative tests before being allowed into the restaurant, but the staff didn’t bat an eyelid. Once they checked my room number, I was allowed to pick a table. So no covid checks in place.
Breakfast wasn’t a bad affair – I didn’t really fancy that much to be honest, so I just made myself some toast and had some bacon and beans with it, washed down with a café au lait from a machine. It was a normal buffet set up, which was good to see.
