Skype call using my headphones didn’t work properly – first second worked fine but then it cut out – I think this is a known issue with the microphone on the headset not working properly with Skype. Will need to review decision as to whether I keep these headphones.

Wandered down early to the gate and it wasn’t that busy. Went past a Chinese type food court thing which I love, so I may pay that a visit later on.

Boarding was very leisurely – First Class was full as normal. AA always seem to bump people up if there are any spaces in First Class.

Had some champers when we got on board and there was definitely a feeling of going on holiday.

Took some photos over Miami after we took off. I switched with a woman that was going to be stuck away from her husband, so took the opportunity of being close to the window. Sample shots are below.

I was surprised how hot it was when we arrived at Cayman (that’s what the locals call it apparently), considering we had flown for only an hour (broadly) south. There was a real sense of holiday spirit with a Jamaican band playing Caribbean jingles.

I had to fill in a customs card and I was lucky enough to be able to go down an empty queue for transit passengers (or those on mileage runs).

When I explained why I wasn’t staying over, there was stunned silence followed by hilarity again. I’m getting used to it.
