I had to turn around quickly and get back through Security and there was a huge queue. However I was patient and it probably only took 20 mins in the end.

I had a good 40 mins spare by the time I got through to the Departure area.

The departure area with all the gates was a complete fiasco – it was chocker and there was no room for anyone to move from one gate to another.

The airport set up very much reminded me of Kona in Hawaii – although Kona was a very laid back place, this was madly hectic.

Things were additionally confused due to multiple flights being called all at the same time.

Unfortunately it wasn’t the same flight crew taking us back to Miami, otherwise that would obviously have caused further chuckles. No champers this time around.

Flight was just over an hour and nothing much to mention about it. I did however prepare for my first use of the Global Entry kiosks, which I found without problem.

Unfortunately when the lady that interviewed me on Friday said that everything was sorted, I was approved and I could use GE straight away, there was a slight anomaly in that no one had reviewed my fingerprints and therefore my GE application hadn’t been approved after all.

I was advised to ring GE at JFK and ask them to review the fingerprints and complete the approval process. Sounds like I hadn’t been the only person suffering from this problem, but I may have been one of the lucky few who came across a CBP guy that was prepared to help me out, and that was because he works on the GE interviews at Miami so he knows what he is doing.

After scraping through GE I followed Flight Connections and got back to the Admiral’s Club. I popped out to that Asian for lunch (got no meaningful food on the two flights to/from Cayman), and I am now waiting for my last flight of the day back to Vegas.
