Flying in First Class with AA on the transcon is normally something to look forward to. The service is normally excellent and the food good. I wondered whether AA would live up to my expectation.

I was awoken abruptly by the alarm this morning - I was clearly in a deep sleep. I caught the 5am Hoppa Hotels bus and bypassed the e-ticketing system, which failed miserably over the last couple of days.

This trip is based on one of the latest good value trips, originating somewhere in Europe and ending in Spain. For some reason, this open jaw arrangement reduced an already relatively cheap trip by a few hundred pounds.
