Over Easter 2014 we took a trip to Helsinki – our first visit to Finland. It was partly to allow us to try out the CCR at Heathrow T5 and partly just to get away.

I was invited over to the First Check-in desk at counter 9 in The First Wing (TFW). I asked the agent to check my passport and then see whether she could change my seat assignment on the LAX–JFK flight.

A short shuttle bus to the Tom Bradley International Terminal, and we were soon heading through TSA Pre-Check. Once through, we headed straight into the Qantas First Lounge and found some relaxing recliner seats.

Our final day in a Trump-controlled US. We were due to fly back to Heathrow this evening, and all our activities today were geared towards getting on our BA flight back home.

We negotiated over the timing of the shuttle bus back to the terminal. I obviously wanted to catch the first bus at 4:30am and the Vickster wanted to catch the 7am.

The Vickster is looking forward to this one. Her first time visiting Indian Wells for the ATP/WTA Masters 1000 tournament. She has already completed her grand slam of the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and US Open.
