Story: Round the World Tier Point Run in Jan 2026

Job done!
But it’s not been that easy to secure those pesky Tier Points.
All of the non-BA marketed flights were credited as per BA’s policy, using the distance method based on the fare class.
All of the BA marketed flight, (i.e. flights with a BA flight code), were credited by BA with some arbitrary and completely made up number of Tier Points, massively lower than the correct Tier Points calculated using BA’s own policy.
Fair to say this was a cynical attempt by BA to avoid its commitments, knowing that some poor unsuspecting passengers would not bother challenging them.
That meant I needed to contact BA’s GGL line to request they correct these issues. To be fair to them, they passed on these issues to the relevant back office team and the issues were resolved in just a few days.
But why did I need to invest that time and effort to encourage BA to do their job properly?
