By this point, I was already settling into a routine when arriving late into Hong Kong and making my way to the Regal Skycity Airport Hotel.
On this occasion, the process was relatively quick and painless, having learnt how to move efficiently through arrivals.
Although I was the last business class passenger off the aircraft, I quickly overtook other passengers on the walk down to the train that shuttles arriving passengers back to immigration.
I knew exactly where to position myself and, more importantly, how critical it was to reach the escalators before those with wheelie bags managed to clog the path.
As a result, I was the first to reach the Immigration Hall, where the Visitors queue was completely empty. I was through in no time at all.
Next came the Airport Express. A train was already waiting to depart, so I jumped straight on.
On arrival at AsiaWorld Expo, I headed to Exit A to pay for my ticket, then walked back along the corridor to Exit B, where the covered walkway leads directly to the hotel.
I was in my room by 10pm, which I was pretty pleased with. I caught up with the Vickster, took a quick shower, and then it was straight to bed.
I had an early start the next morning, with my first flight scheduled to leave just after 9am.
It was also shaping up to be a long — and potentially stressful — day, with the added challenge of persuading Japan Airlines to check me in at Jakarta.
Next up: A gallery of photos from Day 12 of my Round The World trip of a lifetime.
