Once we reached Metro Center, we decided to split up briefly. Vick went to Macy’s, which was close by and I popped back to the hotel, which was just around the corner.

We met up a little later and visited an old haunt: Chop’T.

An amazing lunchtime salad place which J and I had discovered whilst we visited New York and Washington many moons ago.

We were first in just after they opened, so we had the whole place to ourselves.

The staff were desperate to process us as quickly as possible, perhaps in anticipation of the lunchtime rush a little later on.

My order was easy: Mexican Caesar Salad. A spicy version of the classic with broken tortilla chips.

Vick went for a variation of a Cobb Salad.

Both salads hit the spot.

Back to the hotel for a snooze and I did some Residents First work whilst I was in our hotel room.

Later in the afternoon, we walked out down to the Reflecting Pool and enjoyed the warm sunshine.

We walked past the WWI memorial at Pershing Park and on to the Reflecting Pool and the Lincoln Memorial.

There always seems to be some sort of construction work going on at the Lincoln Memorial, and today was no exception.

Although, in contrast, there seemed to be less construction work going on along the Mall compared to previous visits to DC.

We had considered walking on to the Thomas Jefferson Memorial, but we decided we would leave that for Monday when we would be back for our final day before heading home.

We walked back towards the hotel and our last significant activity of the day was another visit to The Cheesecake Factory (TCF), where we enjoyed more good food.
